I have gotten to know the Tyssee's well over the last year as I have done a couple of photo shoots for her jewelry company, Charmed Jewelry. They are the first family I have shot with little kids and I absolutely loved it! Little kids can be themselves and not worry about how they look in front of the camera and so they turn out perfect. I love being able to capture the genuine-ness of a people and kids are the perfect opportunity. This shoot was wonderful fun as the fog rolled into the hills. It turned out mom, dad, Aiden, and Chelsea really did need to cuddle up in the blanket rather than just use it as a prop.
Steve and Sue, hope you love them :)
a movie night under the stars
So I turn nineteen this week (ahh! my last year to live as a "reckless teenager") and about a month ago I had the idea to have a movie night under the stars in my backyard by the lake. I wanted the night to be magical. And it was. Twinkle lights glistening in the trees. Frank Sinatra. Tacos for dinner. Hot apple cider & coffee. The perfect fall movie-Dan in Real Life. Blankets. Homemade peanut butter ice cream. And the best part of all, friends. I proposed the idea to my mom and she thought it sounded like fun. Plus, she's too nice to ever say "no" to me throwing a party. Next thing I know we are purchasing strands of lights, renting a popcorn machine and projector, and spending hours in the scrap booking store making invitations. The night came together perfectly. Thanks family for all of your hard work! Thank you friends for joining me. I love you all! :)
& tyler joy photography, thank you for taking such wonderful pictures! All credit to her.
my coffee shop friend
Dear Thursday afternoon coffee shop friend,
I love that we both love fall and that I got to celebrate it with you. You are an amazingly talented model and I know you are going to make it far (when I laugh at you I only laugh because I like the idea...a lot). But seriously, I enjoy our bike rides and pumpkin spice lattes and going to the Coffee House with you every Thursday! Tell Taylor Swift hello for me when you are famous, okay? Thanks :) I love you!
Alright followers, I'm back with an all new look on my blog. I've been wanting to do something new for a while now and I finally found something that works well (I think, am I right?). One of my new goals is to start blogging at least once a week now that it looks all pretty. I want to tell you stories about adventures or my obsession for the week, like this week it would be Steve Carrell. I love his movies. I don't think Blockbusters should be going out of business because this week I got five dvds for twenty dollars, two of which are Dinner With Schmucks and Dan in Real Life. I love the soundtrack for Dan in Real Life and that it takes place on the east coast in the lovely autumn weather. It really makes me want to live on the east coast. But I want to live everywhere, so what can I say? Anyways, I'll be posting more, whether it be a simple instagram picture or whatever is on my mind that day.
These pictures were taken of the lovely Savannah Benton on the first day of fall. We drove and drove and drove (not really) to Fillmore and after a few u-turns and crossings of train tracks, we finally found it! The lighting was perfect and so was my model. She's going to be in the next Anthropologie magazine, so make sure to look out for it! Enjoy :)
