the harmon family campout

This was by far one of the most fun and dreamy shoots I have ever done.  These photos capture the character of this family - fun, loving, and sweet.  It took a lot of collaborating between Sara and me and it all came together.  Once we started snapping the photos the boys and parents were all smiles in front of the camera...no forcing anything.  At home the Harmon family loves to dance in the family room to old records and let me tell you, these boys know how to dance!! They are so adorable. Mama also brought along some of their favorite baked goods to munch on (and donut holes...the whole families weakness.)  As they danced and ate away into the afternoon sun I knew I was capturing just what it is this enchanting family loves to do.  Thank you Harmon family for being such a joy to take pictures of.

And a special thanks to Ryan and Jeremy for all of your hard work carrying the props back and forth. back and forth. back and forth.  seriously, thanks!

A vintage picnic on a lazy Saturday.  Enjoy!

sand & the boness family!

This is the Boness family.  Ed has been the youth pastor at Crossroads for over a year.  His wife Valerie and two little ones, Lily and Asher, all moved to California with him all the way from Chicago.  It's no surprise they chose the beach since they are used to snow.  I love the beach in December.  The weather is perfect and the sunsets are always full of color.  And the adorable outfits helped make the pictures just right.

the tyssee family

I have gotten to know the Tyssee's well over the last year as I have done a couple of photo shoots for her jewelry company, Charmed Jewelry.  They are the first family I have shot with little kids and I absolutely loved it!  Little kids can be themselves and not worry about how they look in front of the camera and so they turn out perfect.  I love being able to capture the genuine-ness of a people and kids are the perfect opportunity.  This shoot was wonderful fun as the fog rolled into the hills.  It turned out mom, dad, Aiden, and Chelsea really did need to cuddle up in the blanket rather than just use it as a prop.

Steve and Sue, hope you love them :)
